Keep your mouth shut

Did you know that when you breathe through an open mouth you send a message to your flight, fright and fight centre, to start producing adrenalin?

While this is just fine if you are about to use up the intoxicating hormone with some form of physical exertion, it is not so fine if it just cruises around your system unused. The other name for adrenaline is Epinephrine. The sympathetic nervous system governs the delivery of this hormone directly into your blood stream via glands that sit above the kidneys, the adrenal glands.

You may notice that when you become stressed you suddenly start breathing though your mouth instead of continuing to breathe through your nose. We have these two options for taking in breath, mouth or nose, because we have two states of being. When we are running or fighting we need to take in larger volumes of oxygen, hence we breathe through our mouth. When we are not fighting or running we should be maintaining a more composed state and hence breathing through our nasal passages.

So the next time you are feeling stressed take notice of your breathing. see if making a small change like closing your mouth helps slow down your breathing and hence your stress level. www.janenetomelty.com

What’s New?

Hyperbaric chambers have been involved in the management of our health formany decades. The act of breathing oxygen under pressure enables oxygen to penetrate and saturate the tissues throughout the body and has long been recognised as a natural, safe and well-proven therapeutic modality.

Within a major hospital in each state there is available a high-pressure hyperbaric chamber, which is generally only used for inpatients with severe injuries or illnesses, though sometimes the elite sports stars also get to use the chambers, at a significant cost, to increase the rate of healing from an inconvenient injury.

Based on the healing powers of these chambers the mild hyperbaric chamber was developed to enable better access for the everyday public in the management of their injuries, aches and illnesses. Oxygen is a sanitiser as well as a healer. Oxygen is a sanitizer as well as a healer and so is great for preventing those coughs and colds from taking hold

The oxygen saturation enables the body to heal, post surgery or trauma, at a rate 75% faster than normal healing time. Chronic fatigue, poor circulation, allergies, stress, skin conditions, jet lag and even hangovers, to name a few, are all managed more successfully with hyperbaric oxygen treatments.
